Johor, Malaysia: Public Holidays & Working Days Update (2025)
Starting January 1, 2025, the state of Johor will officially adopt Saturday and Sunday as its weekend days off. This change aligns with a recent announcement made by Johor regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim, on Monday (Oct 7, 2024).
To comply with Malaysian law, if a Public Holiday and a Rest Day both fall on a Sunday, the following Monday will be designated as a replacement holiday. For more details on Johor’s public holidays in 2025, you can visit Portal Rasmi Kerajaan Johor Darul Ta'zim.
At BrioHR, we’ve already updated our system to reflect these changes. These updates will be automatically applied to accounts linked to Johor offices, so you won’t need to make any manual adjustments.
NOTE:
You’ll see the updated working days and holidays in your account starting January 2025.
