Additional Public Holiday in Singapore: 3rd May 2025 (Polling Day)

The Singapore government has declared Saturday, 3 May 2025, a public holiday in conjunction with Polling Day, as outlined under Section 35 of the Parliamentary Elections Act.

In line with this announcement, a new public holiday titled “May 2025 Polling Day Public Holiday” has been automatically added to BrioHR for all offices based in Singapore.

Here’s how it applies:

  • If your employees do work on Saturdays, this will be treated as a standard public holiday.

  • If your employees do not usually work on Saturdays, you may choose to:

    • Provide a replacement day off

    • Credit time off

    • Or make other arrangements based on your internal policies

How to Disable This Holiday (If Needed):

If you prefer not to observe this holiday in the system, here’s how to disable it:

  1. Go to Settings > Offices

  2. Select the relevant office and click the Edit icon (green pencil)

  3. In the Edit an Office window, navigate to the Public Holidays tab

  4. Toggle off “May 2025 Polling Day Public Holiday”

  5. Click Submit to save your changes
