Global HR Update
Make Job Change and Termination Reasons Mandatory
Give your organization more consistency around job changes and offboarding. Admins can now require HR to select a reason — not just leave it optional — for every job change and every termination, helping larger teams meet turnover-reporting and compliance needs.
Key Benefits:
-
🔒 Enforce accountability – Turn on a "Make mandatory" toggle so a reason must be selected before saving, instead of relying on HR discretion.
-
🎛️ Set it your way – Job Change Reason and Termination Reason are controlled independently, so you can require one, both, or neither.
-
✅ No disruption to existing records – Turning a toggle on only applies going forward; past records are untouched.
-
📝 Same familiar flow – Reason and optional Comment fields work exactly as before — HR just can't skip past them once mandatory is switched on.

Payroll Update
Clearer Source Months for Shift Premiums & Deductions
Shift premium and deduction amounts are now broken down and labelled by the calendar month they actually belong to — bringing them in line with how Overtime already works in payroll.
Key Benefits:
-
🗓️ See the real source month – When a timesheet spans two calendar months, premiums and deductions are split and grouped by the month the underlying dates fall in, instead of being lumped into the current run.
-
💰 Accurate month-by-month rates – Each month's portion is calculated using that month's own rate, not the payroll run's month.
-
🔍 Easy to scan – Items are grouped with a clear divider and month indicator, so you can tell at a glance which month each amount belongs to.
-
✅ No change for single-month timesheets – If a timesheet falls entirely within one month, nothing changes.

Custom Accounting Grouping for GL Reports & Xero
You can now group your payroll accounting entries using a Select-type custom field in addition to the existing Company, Offices and Departments options.
This gives your team more flexibility to organize accounting entries based on categories that are specific to your organization — such as Employee Type, Business Unit, Academic/Non-Academic, or other custom classifications.
Key Benefits:
-
🎛️More flexible accounting: Group payroll entries based on your organization's own custom categories.
-
🔍Easier account mapping: Set up separate debit and credit account mappings for each custom field option.
-
📝Consistent reporting: Your selected grouping will be reflected across the GL Preview, downloaded GL Report and Xero transfer.
-
💰Simpler payroll accounting: The existing mapping and transfer process remains the same — simply select your preferred custom field as the grouping option.

Time Attendance Update
Customize Overtime Pay Items in Time Attendance
You can now customize the pay item mapped to each overtime type in Time Attendance, giving your team greater flexibility to align overtime payouts with your existing Payroll structure.
Key Benefits:
-
📝 Align OT with your Payroll structure – Map different overtime types to the pay items that match your company's payroll setup.
-
🔍 Support different Payroll Centers – Customize overtime mappings for individual Payroll Centers where different pay item structures are required.
-
💰 Maintain accurate Payroll transfers – brioHR validates overtime mappings to help prevent transfers when a mapped pay item is no longer available or configured as an OT pay item.
