A) Updating Children’s Information in BrioHR
Ensure that employees' children's information is accurately added or updated in their Profile > Family Details before creating and assigning the childcare leave type.
Refer to this guide on updating the children's information for employees eligible for this leave.
B) Creating a Childcare Leave Policy
1. Navigate to: HR Lounge > Leave > Leave Policies > Add new leave type > Fill in details > Leave type template > Select Singapore Childcare Leave
NOTE:
This leave type cannot be set up as a credit-based leave.
2. The leave type created is pre-filled with recommended settings according to MOM regulations, such as annual entitlement, prorated entitlement percentage, maximum entitlement, and rounding options.
NOTE:
Some settings are disabled due to MOM regulations, including Carry Forward, Earned Leave, Seniority, and Linking of leave types. A warning message will appear if these settings are enabled.
3. After selecting the appropriate settings, scroll up to TOOLS.
Click on Assign Policy > Select employees > Assign the policy accordingly > Apply.
4. Click on Childcare Limit to ensure that employees with eligible children appear in the list along with their entitlement.
NOTE:
Add “UTILIZED AMOUNT” for employees previously employed at different companies or those transitioning from different HR software to account for previously utilized childcare leave.
NOTE:
The Annual Limit is the maximum number of days provided for the current year, affected by the Utilized Amount and Maximum Entitlement set in the policy. This limit is displayed before proration (if applicable) and current year leave utilization.
The actual number of days available will be reflected in the leave entitlement dashboard.
5. Employees can apply for childcare leave as usual.
Navigate to: Home > My Leave > Apply Leave > Select leave type > Fill in the dates > Submit.
NOTE:
Childcare leave entitlement can only be utilized in the current year and cannot be applied to previous or future years.
An error message will appear if the leave is applied for outside the current year.
