Troubleshooting: Why Credit Leave Balances Aren’t Carried Over

Why Does This Happen?

For any credit balance with an expiry date that extends into the following year, you must enable the Carry Forward setting in the credit leave policy.

What Happens If I Don’t Enable This Setting?

If you do not enable Carry Forward 2025 for credit leave, any balance expiring in the following year will not be carried over and will be forfeited on 1 January 2025.

To avoid this, it is best to enable the Carry Forward permission BEFORE 31 December 2024, as the system will carry over any unused leave balances to 2025 at midnight on 31 December 2024.

What If I Enable the Carry Forward Setting AFTER 1 January 2025?

If you enable the Carry Forward setting after 1 January 2025, you will need to recompute the balance manually. For detailed instructions, please refer to this guide.
