How Admins Can Allow Employees to Edit Their Own Objectives Weightage

By default, BrioHR does not allow employees to edit their own objectives weightage. However, Admins can configure User Group permissions to grant employees the ability to add, update, and manage their own objectives weightage in the Performance Module.
This article provides a step-by-step guide for enabling this feature and explains how employees can use it once enabled.
Steps to Enable Employees to Edit Their Own Objectives Weightage
1. Login to BrioHR and click into Settings > User Group
2. At the Employee User Group, click on the Edit icon.
3. Within the Employee User Group, go to Employee Modules Permission.
4. In the Performance Module column, tick the checkbox “Allow to edit objectives weightage.”
5. Click Save to apply the changes.
IMPORTANT :
If this checkbox is not selected, employees will NOT be able to edit their own objectives weightage.
NOTE:
This configuration is applicable to any User Group. The example above is for the Employee User Group.
Employee View: Editing Objectives Weightage
Once enabled, employees can manage their own objectives through My Goals on their Home page:

Navigate to Home > My Goals.

In the Objectives column, click the + Add New Objective icon to add a new objective with weightage.

After entering the details, click Create Objective to save.
These updates will then be reflected in:

Appraisal Form > Objectives Feedback
Editing Existing Objectives

Click the Edit (pencil) icon for the objective to be modified.

Adjust the weightage as needed.

Click Update Objective to confirm the changes.

1. Can I enable this feature only for certain employees?
No, the permission is applied at the User Group level. To give access to selected employees, assign them to a specific User Group.
2. What happens if I don’t enable this permission?
Employees will be able to view their objectives but cannot edit weightage. Only managers or Admins can make changes.
3. Can managers still override employee objectives weightage?
Yes, managers and Admins with higher-level access can still adjust objectives regardless of employee permissions.
4. Will edits made by employees reflect in performance reviews?
Yes, any updates to objectives weightage will automatically sync to the Appraisal Form > Objectives Feedback section.
