How to Apply Past Year Leave in the New Year
Learn how to apply past year leave (such as medical or emergency leave) in the new year using your BrioHR leave dashboard.
Introduction
There are situations where employees need to apply for leave taken in the previous year after the new year has already begun. This commonly happens when you return to work after year-end and need to update your leave records in the system.
This guide explains how to apply past year leave using your current year leave dashboard in BrioHR.
Common Scenarios for Applying Past Year Leave
1. Medical Leave:
You were on medical leave on December 28 and 29, but only returned to work on January 2, and need to submit the leave application afterward.
2. Emergency Leave:
You took emergency leave on December 29 and need to apply for it in the system once you resume work in January.
In these cases, you can submit a backdated leave application by switching the leave year in your dashboard.
