How to Assign the New Tax Resident Category in BrioHR

Assigning the "Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass" category in BrioHR is straightforward.

Follow these steps to update an employee’s profile:

  1. Navigate to the Employee Profile
    1. Go to the employee's Profile > Payroll tab.
  2. Edit Payroll Information
    1. Scroll to the "General Payroll Information" section.
    2. Click the "Edit" button (green pencil icon).
  3. Select the New Category
    1. In the "Tax resident category" dropdown menu, choose "Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass."
  4. Save Changes
    1. Click "Save" to finalize the update.

Important Information

  • CPF Contributions: Employees under this category are exempt from CPF contributions. However, contributions to other statutory funds, such as SDL, CDAC, and others, may still be required.
  • Reporting: Once this tax resident category is assigned, it will appear in the following reports:
    • Company Payroll Report
    • Payroll Variance Report
    • Onboarding > Payroll Details
