How to Cancel an Approved Past Date Leave Application

Why Do I Have to Cancel an Approved Past Date Leave Application on Behalf of Employees?

There are several situations where employees need to delete their past date leave applications, such as:

To Re-Apply as Medical/Sick Leave on the Used Date (e.g., Annual Leave - 19 April):

  1. An employee applied for annual leave on 19 April but fell sick on that date and visited a doctor. The doctor issued a medical certificate for sick leave.
  2. The system does not allow the employee to apply for another leave type for the same date due to overlapping dates (utilized for annual leave).
  3. Since the date is in the past and the leave has been approved by managers, the employee cannot cancel the applied leave themselves.
  4. Therefore, HR/Admin needs to cancel the leave on behalf of the employee so they can re-apply for 19 April as medical/sick leave.

Employee Works on the Date They Applied for Leave:

  1. An employee applied for annual leave on 12 December but was required to come to work on that date.
  2. The employee wanted to cancel the leave the day after but was unable to do so.
  3. Therefore, HR/Admin needs to cancel the leave on behalf of the employee to return their unused leave days.
