How to Cancel an Approved Past Date Leave Application
Why Do I Have to Cancel an Approved Past Date Leave Application on Behalf of Employees?
There are several situations where employees need to delete their past date leave applications, such as:
To Re-Apply as Medical/Sick Leave on the Used Date (e.g., Annual Leave - 19 April):
- An employee applied for annual leave on 19 April but fell sick on that date and visited a doctor. The doctor issued a medical certificate for sick leave.
- The system does not allow the employee to apply for another leave type for the same date due to overlapping dates (utilized for annual leave).
- Since the date is in the past and the leave has been approved by managers, the employee cannot cancel the applied leave themselves.
- Therefore, HR/Admin needs to cancel the leave on behalf of the employee so they can re-apply for 19 April as medical/sick leave.
Employee Works on the Date They Applied for Leave:
- An employee applied for annual leave on 12 December but was required to come to work on that date.
- The employee wanted to cancel the leave the day after but was unable to do so.
- Therefore, HR/Admin needs to cancel the leave on behalf of the employee to return their unused leave days.
