How to Change an Employee’s Performance Appraiser in BrioHR Performance Cycle

Learn how to update or change an employee’s appraiser in the BrioHR Performance Management module. Follow this step-by-step guide to ensure a smooth appraisal process during restructuring, role changes, or resignations.

Introduction

When there are management changes, team restructuring, or when an existing appraiser resigns, HR Admins may need to update the assigned appraiser to ensure the performance cycle continues smoothly.

BrioHR allows HR Admins to change an employee’s appraiser at any time during an active performance cycle.

Step-by-Step Guide: Changing Employee's Performance Appraiser

Step 1 - Log In to BrioHR Account

Log in to your BrioHR account using your registered credentials.

Step 2 - Access the Performance Management Module

Navigate to HR Lounge > Performance Management.

Step 3 - Open the Employees Section

1. Click Employees under the Performance Management module.

2.  Locate the Appraiser column in the employee list.

3. Search for the employees whose appraiser you want to update.

4. Choose one of the following options:

Option A: Assign Manager as Appraiser

Select Manager to automatically assign the employee's current manager as listed in their profile.

If the manager has changed (e.g., due to resignation), click the pencil icon to update the new manager's name.

Option B: Assign Another Employee as Appraiser

Select Employee and search for the new appraiser's name from the dropdown list.

NOTE:

You may assign more than one appraiser, but only the first-level appraiser can rate and provide feedback on the appraisal form.

After selecting the new appraiser(s), click Save.

You will now see the appraiser updated from the previous appraiser to the new one.

IMPORTANT:

Changing the appraiser during an active performance cycle will delete any information stored in the 'Summary' section of the employee's appraisal form.

Ensure that all necessary notes are back up or saved elsewhere before making changes.
