How to Enable Leave Applications for Employees on Friday/Saturday in Kedah, Kelantan & Terengganu Offices

Most states and federal territories in Malaysia observe a Saturday-Sunday weekend. However, states such as Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu observe a Friday-Saturday weekend.

As a result, for offices located in Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu, BrioHR's default weekend settings are Friday-Saturday. Therefore, employees working at any of these office locations will not be able to apply for leave on Fridays or Saturdays by default.

As shown in the screenshot below, under the Leave module, Fridays and Saturdays are greyed out in the calendar:

You can customize the working days by following these steps:

• Click on Settings.
• Click on Offices.
• Click Edit at the office branch you wish to customize.

• In the Edit an Office pop-up window, enable the Customize Working Days option.

• Select the applicable days (Friday/Saturday) from the drop-down list.
• Click Submit to complete the action. Otherwise, click Cancel to discard the changes.

• Once the customization is complete, employees can apply for leave on Fridays and Saturdays, and these days will no longer be greyed-out in the calendar, as shown in the screenshot below:
