How to Enable Private Retirement Scheme (PRS) Contributions in Payroll Malaysia
NOTE:
The PRS contribution is not enabled by default. The HR Admin must select the organization at both the company and employee levels before processing payroll.
A. Company Level
To enable PRS contributions at the company level, follow these steps:
- In the HR Lounge, go to Payroll > Settings.
- In the REGISTRATION INFORMATION section, scroll down to the "Organizations" column and select "PRS" from the dropdown menu.
- In the Calendar section, scroll down to the "Income Basis for PRS Calculation" column and choose the applicable payroll items.
- In the same Calendar section, scroll down to the "HPRS Percentage of Income" column and enter the percentage for the employer's contribution, as shown in the sample screenshot below.
- Click the Save icon to complete the action.
B. Employee Level
To enable PRS contributions at the employee level, follow these steps:
- Go to People > Employee List, search for the employee, and click on their name to navigate to their profile.
- In the employee's profile, click the Payroll tab. In the "Statutory Contributions" column, click the Edit icon.
- In the "PRS" field, select the appropriate option from the dropdown menu.
- Click the Save icon to complete the action.
Once PRS contributions are enabled, they will appear on the Payroll dashboard and the employee's payslip during payroll processing, as shown in the sample screenshots below.
