How to Generate the CP22A Form in BrioHR

What Is The CP22A Form?

The CP22A form is submitted by employers to notify the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) of an employee's cessation of employment, termination, or cessation due to death.

When an employer is about to cease employing an employee who is, or is likely to be, chargeable to tax, or if an employee under their employment passes away, the employer must submit the CP22A form. This should be done no later than 30 days before the cessation of employment or within 30 days of being informed of the employee's death.

How To Generate The CP22A Form In BrioHR

  • In the HR Lounge, navigate to Payroll.
  • Scroll down to the Payroll Employees list.
  • Check the "Show inactive employees" checkbox.
  • Find the employee for whom you want to generate the form, click on the ACTIONS dropdown menu, and select "CP22A."

  • Complete the relevant fields, then click on the Generate icon to download the form.

NOTE:

For Column E (DECLARATION BY AUTHORIZED OFFICER), please select the date from the calendar, as this field is mandatory. You will not be able to generate the form if the date is not selected.

NOTE:

Ensure that the "REGISTRATION INFORMATION," such as the Phone Number, Officer Name, and Officer Position in the Payroll Settings, is completed.

If any information is missing, you will receive a warning notification as shown in the sample screenshot below. Follow the instructions in the warning text and input the missing information before generating the form again.

Custom Payroll Item Settings

To select where a custom payroll item should appear in the CP22A form, follow these steps:

  • In HR Lounge > Payroll, click on Settings.
  • Scroll down to the Default Payslip Items table, and click on:
    • Item List > Edit: For existing custom payroll items; or
    • +Create custom item: For new custom payroll items.
  • In the "Where should it appear in the EA form?" field, select "B.1(a) - Gross salary, wages, or leave pay (incl. overtime)" from the dropdown menu.

  • In the "Where should it appear in the CP22A form?" field, select:
    • "Follow EA form calculation"; or
    • "Leave Pay: Included in B.2 calculation."

  • Click Submit to complete the action.
