What is the SSFW Number?
According to the Employee's Social Security Act 1969 (Act 4), employers who hire foreign workers must register their employees with SOCSO and contribute to the Employment Injury Scheme, effective from January 1, 2019. This contribution is the employer's responsibility and must be paid monthly.
The SSFW Number, or Social Security Foreign Worker number, a 12-digit number is created when employers register their foreign employees via the PERKESO ASSIST portal or at PERKESO counters for the first time.
Where to Edit the SSFW Number for Foreign Employees?
Part 1: Edit Individually
For foreign employees, it's mandatory for the Admin/Payroll Processor to update the SSFW Number in their profiles.
1. Navigate to the employee's profile and select the Payroll section.
2. In the General Payroll Information section, click the pencil icon to enter Edit mode.
3. Locate the SSFW Number (under PCB Number) and update the number in the text field.
4. Click Save.
Part 2: Edit in Bulk
1. Go to HR Lounge.
2. Click on Payroll.
Scroll down to the Payroll employees list.
3. Click on the Bulk Download/Upload button.
4. A pop-up window will appear; click on the Download button.
An Excel template titled 'Employee Payroll Data' will be downloaded to your computer.
5. Open the 'Employee Payroll Data' worksheet to make edits.
NOTE:
Do not delete any worksheets or columns, and do not rearrange them in this Excel template.
6. Find column [Y] with the header title SSFW Number and update it. Click Save.
Return to the pop-up window Bulk Download/Upload.
7. Click Choose File and upload your saved Excel template.
