How to Manage Salary History in an Employee's Profile
To add, edit, or view an employee's salary history, please follow these steps:
1. Navigate to HR Lounge > Employee Management or People > Employee Directory section and use the search field to find the employee by name. Click on the employee's name to open their profile.

2. Once in the employee's profile, click on the "Compensation" tab.
3. In the "Compensation" tab, you can view the employee's salary history. To add a new salary entry, click on the "+Add Salary" icon.
4. In the "Add Salary" pop-up window, enter all relevant information. Please note that the salary's effective date cannot be earlier than the employee's start date or later than their end date. After entering the information, click "Save" to complete the action. If you wish to cancel, click "Cancel."
NOTE:
If the new effective date is set in the middle of the month, the payroll calculation will be prorated.

5. After adding new salary details, they will appear in the "Compensation" tab along with the previous salary information.

6. To edit existing salary details, hover over the salary item and click the "Edit" icon. You can correct any mistakes or update the salary if the employee has received a raise. Newly added salaries can be set for a future date and will only take effect on the specified effective date.

7. In the "Edit Salary" pop-up window, update the necessary information and click "Save" to complete the action. To cancel, click "Cancel."

NOTE:
If a salary item has already been added to the payroll cycle, and the salary has been processed and completed in payroll, the effective date should not be changed. Any changes to the salary's effective date should be made before payroll processing.
To edit or delete a past compensation, refer to the article here.
IMPORTANT:
BrioHR does NOT automatically calculate and add backpay when a salary increment is added with a past effective date.
Example scenario: increment effective 1 Jan, approved in March. BrioHR will NOT auto-generate the Jan–Feb arrears.
Manual workaround: Calculate the arrears amount yourself and add it to the current payroll cycle using the 'Arrears of Salary' pay item.
8. The current salary should reflect in accordingly under Employee Profile > Payroll.
Remember, salary details can only be added or modified in the "Compensation" tab. The "Payroll" tab only displays the current salary amount.
IMPORTANT:
After saving the salary change in the employee profile, be sure to go to the ongoing payroll cycle and click the Refresh button. The change will not apply to the current payroll automatically.
