The Development Plan feature in BrioHR allows managers to support employees in setting both short-term and long-term career goals. Employees can define the skills they need to develop and the actions they must take to achieve their goals.
Here’s how you can configure the Development Plan in BrioHR:
Steps to Configure Development Plan
-
Login to BrioHR.
-
Navigate to HR Lounge > Performance.
-
Select Development Plan.
Once you're in the Development Plan settings, you can configure several options to tailor the feature according to your organization's needs.
Key Configuration Options
-
Title and Description
Set a single title and description for the development plan. This will serve as a concise overview or guideline to help employees understand the purpose and content of their development plans.
-
Guided SMART Action Plan
Enable the guide if you want to provide instructions to employees on how to define their development plans. BrioHR has already prepared a default guide using the SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) framework; however, you can modify it to better fit your organization's needs.
-
Time Buckets
Select up to three time buckets to define short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals. Customize the wording to align with your internal processes, providing clarity and focus for employees in setting their growth objectives.
-
Other Variable Items
You can add up to three additional custom items to the Development Plan. Keep in mind that any changes made here will not be reflected in archived employee development plans, ensuring historical records remain intact.
Important Notes
- Once enabled, the Development Plan feature is visible to all employees, regardless of their department, job title, job grade, or other organizational attributes. This ensures everyone has access to tools for career development and aligns their growth with the company's goals.
By carefully setting up these configurations, you provide a structured approach for employee development that supports both personal and organizational growth.
