Payroll Malaysia: How to Configure Statutory Contributions for Custom Pay Items
This article explains how an HR Admin/Payroll manager can change which contributions apply to a custom payroll item, including PCB, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, and HRDF.

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Navigate to HR Lounge > Payroll > Settings > Payroll Items
2. To filter out custom payroll items, make sure the 'Is custom filter' is ticked in the filter bar.

3. To edit an existing custom pay item, click the Edit (pencil icon) button on the right side of the pay item and tick/untick statutory checkboxes.

NOTE:
Default pay items are pre-configured per statutory rules and cannot be edited
IMPORTANT:
The Admin/Payroll Manager of your company is responsible for deciding which statutory contributions apply based on the nature of the payment. It is not the responsibility of BrioHR to check the settings applied for your company payroll.
For pay items with unclear statutory treatment, always confirm with LHDN or a payroll consultant. BrioHR cannot provide statutory advice.
