Understanding 360 Feedback: Upwards, Downwards, and Peer Reviews Explained

Categories of 360 Feedback in BrioHR

360 Feedback is a comprehensive appraisal method involving feedback from various sources.

BrioHR categorizes 360 Feedback into three main types:

Upwards Feedback

Upwards feedback involves feedback from people who report to the appraisee. These individuals are typically junior to the appraisee, such as direct reports, interns, or colleagues who have worked on a project managed by the appraisee.

Downwards Feedback

Downwards feedback comes from those who manage or supervise the appraisee. These individuals are usually senior to the appraisee, such as supervisors or project managers who have collaborated with the appraisee.

Peer Feedback

Peer feedback is gathered from colleagues who have worked alongside the appraisee. These individuals are generally at the same level as the appraisee, such as team members or other peers the appraisee has interacted with.
