Penny test: check your bank file
A penny test checks that your bank accepts the bank file brioHR produces, before you pay real salaries. You do it with a small ad hoc payroll cycle. Submitting the file to your bank, and resolving any issue with them, is between you and your bank.
- Run an ad hoc payroll cycle: go to HR Lounge > Payroll > Run Payroll and start an ad hoc cycle.
- On the Adjust Payroll page, add a pay item with an amount of S$0.01 to your employees. Use the bulk action to add the amount for your employees easily.
- Complete the cycle, download the bank file and upload it to your company's own bank portal. The steps depend on your bank, see the articles below.
- Confirm the file uploads without any issue for all your employees. If it cannot be uploaded, tell your IM.
- When you are done, delete the ad hoc cycle the same way as the test cycle in Step 7 (Delete latest cycle, which needs the "Allow access to delete payroll cycles" permission).
