Common migration mistakes

What goes wrongWhy it happensHow to avoid it
Everyone is marked late, or no one is.Late (In) was left blank, or set too generously.Set Late (In) to your grace period, for example 10 minutes after the shift starts.
Overtime is missing.Calculate Overtime is off in the policy, overtime had to be pre-approved, or Late (Out) cuts it short.Agree the overtime settings for each policy, and set Late (Out) to the latest time overtime can count.
Shift premiums aren't paid. The shift has no tag, the premium isn't added to the policy, or the schedule uses flexible hours.Tag the shifts on the Work Shifts tab, and tell your IM which policies each premium applies to.
Employees don't sync to the attendance device.Their Employee ID has hyphens, spaces or slashes.Use letters and numbers only in Employee IDs on your Employee List.

Send your template to your IM

When your Time Attendance Migration Template is filled in, check that your Company Data and Employee List templates are final (offices, departments, job grades, employment types, managers and Employee IDs), then send the template to your IM together with your answers to Time Attendance Settings to Agree with Your IM. Your IM sets up your shifts, schedules and policies, assigns schedules and policies, and links any devices or integrations. Once your IM has set up your data, the data verification articles show you how to check it and run a short trial before go-live. If you're unsure how to fill in any field, your IM is happy to help. For how-to steps and screen walkthroughs, see the Time Attendance Starter Guide and the related brioHR Help Center articles. Plan your go-live for the start of a roster and payroll period, and share the manager and employee guides in Help Your Managers and Employees Get Started with Time Attendance so everyone knows how to clock in and approve on day one.
