Creating a training event is a crucial step in employee development. In this first part of our comprehensive guide, we’ll walk you through the training details section.
The company allows employees to attend training events by enrolling in their preferred courses.
HR/Admin can create training events in the Training module. HR can also assign training eligibility and set a budget for each event.
Employee enrollment in training requires approval. For more information on setting up the training manager's role and the approval workflow, please refer to this guide.
Why Are Training Details Important?
The training details section provides the foundational information that ensures the training event is clear, relevant, and accessible to participants. This includes the training’s objectives, timeline, and logistical details like location and trainer information.
Steps by Steps to Open a Training Creation Page
Login to BrioHR account
- Go to HR Lounge
- Click the Training tab
- Navigate to Training Catalog
- In this section, you will see list of training events created and its statuses.
- Click on +Create Training button to create a new training event.
How to Create a Training (Part 1: Training Details)
This section has five parts: Details, Eligibility, Budget, Approval, and Trainees.
NOTE:
Part 1: Details
After clicking +Create Training button, navigate to the Details tab to input the training information.- Enter the training name
- Upload a featured image for the training
- Select a category for the training.
- If no category is chosen, the training event is consider as 'non-categorized' training, which may have a different approval workflow.
- For more information on how to add a new Category type, please refer to this guide.
- For approval workflow setup for categorized and non-categorized trainings, please refer to this guide.
- Add a description of the training such as objectives, summary, key takeaways etc.
- Set the start date, end date, and start time, end time.
- Enter the location/venue.
- Attach any relevant documents if required
- Add video links or related resources.
- You can also provide trainer details, including:
- Trainer name.
- Phone number.
- Email.
- Trainer profile photo.
- Add brief biodata of the trainer.
- Click Save to create a training event.
